Kerala Tour Packages from Hyderabad: Best Itineraries, Cost & Travel Guide

Planning a Kerala holiday from Hyderabad is easier than most people expect, because Cochin is only about 1 hour 40 minutes away by a nonstop flight. The harder part is choosing a route. Kerala’s hills, wildlife country, backwaters and beaches are several hours apart by road, so the right package depends on how many days you have and what you want to see. This guide compares the Kerala tour packages from Hyderabad that Leisure Trips currently lists, with prices from ₹10,000 per person, day-wise itineraries for 4 to 7 days, realistic transfer times, a trip-cost breakdown that separates the package from flights and extras, and advice for couples and families.

What do Kerala tour packages from Hyderabad cost?

Our listed Kerala land packages run from ₹10,000 per person for 4 days / 3 nights to ₹20,000 per person for 7 days / 6 nights. A land package covers stays, a private AC sedan, listed sightseeing and the meals mentioned in the inclusions. It does not cover your flight or train from Hyderabad, entry tickets, most lunches and dinners, or GST (5% is listed on several packages). Treat the package price as the base, then add your transport from Hyderabad and a spending buffer.

Why choose Kerala for your next holiday from Hyderabad?

Three things make Kerala a practical choice from Hyderabad. First, access: nonstop flights between Hyderabad and Cochin take roughly 1 hour 35 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes, so even a 4-day trip leaves real time on the ground. Second, variety in a small area: tea hills, a tiger-reserve landscape, backwaters and beaches all sit inside one state. Third, flexibility: you can build the same trip for a honeymoon, a family break or a multi-generation holiday just by changing the route and the pace.

Kerala suits people who want cool weather and scenery more than nightlife or heavy sightseeing. It is less suited to travellers who want to cover everything in three days. The distances look short on a map but the hill roads are slow, and the biggest planning mistake we see is trying to fit Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey and a beach into four days.

Best Kerala tour packages from Hyderabad

These are the packages currently listed on the Leisure Trips website. Prices are the listed per-person prices and are confirmed again when we quote for your dates and room occupancy. All six start with a pick-up in Cochin.

Package Duration Listed price (per person) Route Main inclusions Details
Explore Kerala 3N / 4D ₹10,000 Cochin – Munnar – Alleppey – Kochi Hotel stays, Alleppey overnight, sedan AC for 4 days, 3 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 1 dinner Check availability
Best of Kerala 5 Days 4N / 5D ₹12,000 Cochin – Munnar – Thekkady – Alleppey – Kochi Hotel stays, Alleppey overnight, sedan AC for 5 days, 4 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 1 dinner Check availability
Kerala Bliss 4N / 5D ₹16,000 Cochin – Munnar – Alleppey – Varkala – Trivandrum Hotel stays, Alleppey overnight, sedan AC for 5 days, 4 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 1 dinner Check availability
Kerala Delight 4N / 5D ₹16,000 Cochin – Munnar – Alleppey – Kovalam Hotels, sedan AC, listed sightseeing; see page for meals Check availability
Kerala Grand Escape 5N / 6D ₹18,000 Cochin – Munnar – Alleppey – Kovalam – Poovar Hotels, sedan AC, listed sightseeing; see page for meals Check availability
Complete Kerala Tour 6N / 7D ₹20,000 Cochin – Munnar – Thekkady – Alleppey – Kovalam – Poovar – Trivandrum Hotel stays, Alleppey overnight, sedan AC for 7 days, 6 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 1 dinner Check availability

Two practical notes. The Alleppey night is described on the package pages as a backwater stay, and the inclusion lists mention a houseboat night, so we confirm whether your quote is a resort room or a houseboat before you pay. Also, children aged 11 and above are counted as adults on our terms, which matters for family pricing.

What the listed prices tell you

Looking at the six listings side by side shows how the pricing behaves:

  • Per night, the range is narrow. ₹10,000 for 3 nights works out to about ₹3,333 per night, Best of Kerala to ₹3,000, Kerala Delight and Bliss to ₹4,000, Grand Escape to ₹3,600 and the 7-day tour to ₹3,333.
  • Extra nights are cheap on the same route. Adding a night and Poovar to Kerala Delight (₹16,000) gives Grand Escape (₹18,000), a difference of ₹2,000. Adding Thekkady to Grand Escape gives the Complete tour (₹20,000), another ₹2,000.
  • Varkala and Kovalam cost the same. Kerala Bliss and Kerala Delight are both ₹16,000, so the choice is about the kind of beach, not the budget.
  • Best of Kerala is the lowest per night. If you want wildlife country and backwaters without a beach, it is the lowest-priced route per night in the range.

Best Kerala itinerary from Hyderabad

Kerala itineraries work best when each day has one long drive at most. The approximate road distances below come from our package pages and published operator and Kerala Tourism package listings. Actual time depends on traffic, ghat-road conditions and weather.

A useful tip from Hyderabad: the first nonstop flights of the day have been seen leaving Hyderabad around 7 am and landing in Cochin about 1 hour 40 minutes later. Schedules change by season, so check yours, but a morning arrival means you can start the Munnar drive the same day rather than losing Day 1 at the airport.

4 days / 3 nights Kerala itinerary (Munnar and Alleppey)

Best for: first-timers with a short break, couples, and families with school-age children. Based on Explore Kerala, ₹10,000.

Day Plan Overnight Transfer (approx.)
1 Cochin to Munnar, with waterfall and viewpoint stops en route Munnar 125–140 km, about 3.5–4.5 hours
2 Full-day Munnar: Mattupetty Dam, Kundala Lake, Echo Point Munnar Local
3 Munnar to Alleppey, evening by the backwaters Alleppey About 170 km, 4–5 hours
4 Alleppey to Kochi: Marine Drive and Fort Kochi, then drop – About 58 km, 1.5 hours

Route practicality: Days 1 and 3 are long, and Day 2 is the only relaxed day. It works, but it is a sampler. Ask us about adding one night in Munnar or a houseboat option if you want to slow down.

5 days / 4 nights Kerala itinerary (three route options)

Best for: most first trips from Hyderabad. This is the length we recommend as a minimum for Munnar plus one more region.

Option A, hills and wildlife (Best of Kerala, ₹12,000): Cochin – Munnar (2 nights) – Thekkady (1 night) – Alleppey (1 night) – Kochi drop. Munnar to Thekkady is roughly 90–100 km and about 3 hours; Thekkady to Alleppey is about 140–145 km and roughly 4 hours, which Kerala Tourism lists as a 4-hour drive on its own package itineraries. Thekkady is the gateway to the Periyar Tiger Reserve; tiger sightings are rare, and elephants, birds and other wildlife are more likely.

Option B, hills and Varkala (Kerala Bliss, ₹16,000): Cochin – Munnar (2 nights) – Alleppey (1 night) – Varkala (1 night) – Trivandrum drop. Alleppey to Varkala is about 120 km, around 3 hours. You arrive in Cochin and leave from Trivandrum, so there is no backtracking, but you need a one-way ticket back.

Option C, hills and Kovalam (Kerala Delight, ₹16,000): Cochin – Munnar – Alleppey – Kovalam. Alleppey to Kovalam is roughly 160 km and about 4 hours, so the last transfer day is long.

6 days / 5 nights Kerala itinerary (hills, backwaters and beach)

Best for: couples and families who want a beach at the end without cutting Munnar short. Based on Kerala Grand Escape, ₹18,000.

Day Plan Overnight
1 Cochin to Munnar Munnar
2 Munnar sightseeing Munnar
3 Munnar to Alleppey Alleppey
4 Alleppey to Kovalam Kovalam
5 Kovalam beaches and Poovar excursion Kovalam
6 Padmanabhaswamy Temple visit and Trivandrum drop –

This follows the package route; your final day-wise plan is confirmed on the quote. Day 4 is the long drive. Sea conditions at Kovalam and Poovar vary by season, so check lifeguard flags before swimming.

7 days / 6 nights Kerala itinerary (the full circuit)

Best for: families, couples and anyone who prefers one well-paced route over two short trips. Based on the Complete Kerala Tour, ₹20,000.

Day Plan Overnight
1 Cochin to Munnar, with Adi Shankaracharya’s birthplace and waterfalls on the way Munnar
2 Munnar: Mattupetty Dam, Kundala Lake, Echo Point Munnar
3 Munnar to Thekkady, near the Periyar Tiger Reserve Thekkady
4 Thekkady to Alleppey Alleppey
5 Alleppey to Kovalam; Samudra, Hawa and Lighthouse beaches Kovalam
6 Poovar excursion and return to Kovalam Kovalam
7 Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple and drop at Trivandrum –

Optional experiences: Thekkady nature activities and boat rides are optional and charged separately, subject to forest department rules and the season. Entry fees for attractions are not included in any of our packages; we tell you the current charges when we plan your trip.

Wayanad option: Nature’s Paradise Awaits (4 nights / 5 days)

Wayanad is the quiet-hills alternative to Munnar, and it works best as a separate trip rather than an add-on. Our Nature’s Paradise Awaits package is listed at ₹19,999 per person, with 4 nights’ hotel stay, 4 breakfasts and a sedan AC for 5 days. Sightseeing includes Edakkal Caves, Banasura Sagar Dam, Meenmutty Waterfalls, Kuruva Island, spice and coffee plantations, Chembra Peak viewpoint and Kanthanpara Waterfalls, plus optional glass-bridge access.

Important for Hyderabad travellers: this itinerary starts and ends in Mysore, not Hyderabad. Mysore to Wayanad is about 130 km, roughly 3–4 hours by road. Your journey from Hyderabad to Mysore (usually via Bengaluru) is not included and must be arranged and priced separately. 5% GST is extra, and entry tickets and most meals are not included. Please confirm the current rate and availability with us before you plan around it.

Kerala tour packages from Hyderabad for couples

For couples, Kerala works when the trip has fewer hotel changes and at least one slow day. The route we suggest most often for a honeymoon or anniversary is Munnar, then Alleppey, then a beach, which is exactly what Kerala Delight (Kovalam) and Kerala Bliss (Varkala) follow.

  • Munnar for cool mornings, tea-estate views and two nights in one hotel so you are not repacking daily.
  • Alleppey for the backwater night. Tell us if you want a private houseboat rather than a resort room; they are different experiences and different prices, and we quote both.
  • Varkala or Kovalam to finish. Varkala is a cliff-top beach with cafés and a quieter feel; Kovalam has a crescent-shaped coast and a more established beach-resort feel. Kerala Bliss and Kerala Delight cost the same, so choose by mood.

Mention that it is a honeymoon when you enquire and we will check room category, decoration and dinner options with the hotels. These are arranged on request and subject to availability, so they are not part of the standard listed price. For higher-category stays, see our luxury honeymoon tours.

Kerala tour packages from Hyderabad for family

Families should plan around the longest drive. Children and older relatives tolerate Munnar’s winding ghat roads better when the day has a stop every hour or two, and motion sickness is common on the hill sections.

  • Choose fewer hotel changes. The 5-day Best of Kerala route has three changes; the 7-day route has four. If you are travelling with grandparents, the 4-day Explore Kerala is shorter but has two long drive days.
  • Age rule on our packages: children 11 years and above are counted as adults. Ask us how younger children are priced for your dates.
  • Vehicle: all listed packages use a private sedan AC. The AC does not work on hilly terrain, so carry a light jacket and motion-sickness medicine.
  • Senior citizens: Padmanabhaswamy Temple has a dress code and entry rules, and Varkala Cliff involves walking. Tell us about mobility needs so we can choose hotel locations and rest stops.
  • Four or more travellers: a sedan seats limited passengers, so groups of four or more usually need a larger vehicle. We quote the vehicle and the revised price separately.

Hyderabad to Kerala trip cost: complete budget breakdown

The most common mistake in Kerala budgeting is comparing a land-package price with a total trip cost. Here is how the two differ.

Cost item Included in listed package? What to know
Hotel / Alleppey stay Yes
Hotels as per availability or similar; category confirmed on quote
Private sedan AC Yes
Vehicle is available 8 am to 7 pm; extra hours are paid to the driver
Listed sightseeing Yes
As per itinerary; subject to time and weather
Breakfast Yes Daily
1 lunch and 1 dinner Yes, on the packages that state it
All other lunches and dinners are extra
GST No
5% is listed on several packages; confirm for yours
Entry tickets and activities No
Pay at the attraction; budget for Periyar, boating and other activities
Flight or train from Hyderabad No
Separate; see next section
Houseboat upgrade Confirm
Listed inclusions differ from the itinerary text; ask on enquiry
Tips, laundry, room heater No
Personal expense

Illustrative land-only examples (listed prices plus 5% GST where the package page lists it):

  • Couple, Explore Kerala (4 days): 2 × ₹10,000 = ₹20,000, plus ₹1,000 GST = ₹21,000.
  • Couple, Kerala Delight (5 days): 2 × ₹16,000 = ₹32,000, plus ₹1,600 GST = ₹33,600.
  • Couple, Complete Kerala Tour (7 days): 2 × ₹20,000 = ₹40,000, plus ₹2,000 GST = ₹42,000.
  • Family of four adults or children 11+, Complete Kerala Tour: 4 × ₹20,000 = ₹80,000, plus ₹4,000 GST = ₹84,000. A larger vehicle may change this.

These figures exclude your transport from Hyderabad, entry fees and meals beyond those listed. For market context, one large online travel platform listed Kerala packages from Hyderabad at roughly ₹14,500 per person for a 4-day trip and up to about ₹37,500 for 9 days (updated June 2026). Packages differ in hotel category, meals and vehicle, so compare inclusions line by line rather than the headline number.

Is a Kerala trip possible within ₹20,000 per person? The land package alone can be, for 4 to 7 days. All-in with a flight, it is only realistic on the shortest package with a low-fare flight, and even then entry fees, meals and GST usually push the total higher. Plan for more.

How to reach Kerala from Hyderabad

Hyderabad to Kerala by flight

Cochin International Airport is the usual gateway. IndiGo and Air India Express operate nonstop flights on Hyderabad–Cochin, with published flight times of around 1 hour 35 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. Aggregator samples from 2025 showed return fares from roughly ₹9,000 on selected off-peak dates, but fares rise sharply in peak season and around holidays, so book as early as your dates are fixed. Best for: anyone with 4 to 7 days, families with children, and senior travellers. Limitation: budget carriers often exclude checked baggage from the base fare. If you choose Kerala Bliss or the Complete Kerala Tour, you finish in Trivandrum, so ask us to check the one-way return options from there.

Hyderabad to Kerala by train

Direct daily train services between Secunderabad and Ernakulam exist, but published journey times run roughly 22 to 24 hours each way, and schedules, train numbers and availability change, so check IRCTC before you plan around one. Best for: travellers with 8 or more days, or those who enjoy rail journeys. Limitation: it takes up two days of a short holiday, and tickets in peak months often sell out well in advance.

Hyderabad to Kerala by road

Hyderabad to Kochi is roughly 1,050 to 1,110 km by road, and aggregators put pure driving time at 15 to 17 hours. In practice, a safe plan is two days of driving each way with an overnight stop, so this only makes sense for a long self-drive trip of 10 days or more, or if you need your own vehicle. Best for: road-trippers with time to spare. Limitation: fatigue, night driving and ghat roads at the end. For a typical 5 to 7 day holiday, flying and using a package vehicle is more practical.

Best time to visit Kerala from Hyderabad

Kerala is a year-round destination, and the right month depends on what you want. The seasonal summary below combines our package guidance with operator information; check forecasts before booking, since monsoon timing varies by year.

Season Months What to expect
Winter (peak) October to March Most comfortable weather for hills, backwaters and beaches; December to February is the coolest in Munnar. Hotel and houseboat demand is highest
Summer April to May Warmer, especially in Alleppey and on the coast
Monsoon June to September Very green landscapes; heavy rain can disrupt sightseeing and roads, and the sea is rough at beaches

Kerala also sees a lighter second rainy period in October and November in some years, so keep a flexible day in your plan. If you are travelling between December and February, book hotels early.

Best places to include in your Kerala tour

  • Munnar: the base for any hills trip. It has no airport or railway station of its own, so you reach it by road from Cochin (about 125–140 km). Give it two nights, not one; otherwise the trip becomes mostly driving. People searching for Hyderabad to Munnar packages should know the usual plan is a flight to Cochin, then a 3.5 to 4.5 hour drive.
  • Alleppey: one night is enough for the backwaters. Decide early whether you want a resort or a houseboat, because it changes the cost.
  • Thekkady: worth including if you want a forest setting around the Periyar Tiger Reserve. It adds a night and about 3 to 4 hours of driving each way.
  • Kochi: best used as the first or last stop rather than as a separate trip. Fort Kochi and Marine Drive fit into half a day.
  • Wayanad: a different trip. It is reached via Mysore or Kozhikode and is not on the main Cochin–Trivandrum route, so treat it as its own holiday.
  • Kovalam: easy to include as a final stop; Trivandrum airport is the closest.
  • Varkala: a quieter cliff-top alternative to Kovalam, about 50 km north of it.

Practical tips before you book

  1. Pick your arrival and departure airports together. Cochin in and Trivandrum out removes backtracking, but ask us for the one-way fare before deciding.
  2. Do not stack too much into four days. Munnar plus Alleppey is the realistic limit.
  3. Pack for two climates. Munnar is noticeably cooler, especially in the morning and evening.
  4. Carry ID. Hotels ask for valid government ID at check-in.
  5. Budget for entry fees and meals. They are not part of the listed package price.
  6. Ask about vehicle size if you are four or more.
  7. Keep one buffer. Heavy rain, landslides or political disturbances can affect services, and unused services are not refunded.

Why choose Leisure Trips for your Kerala holiday?

Leisure Trips is a Hyderabad-based travel agency and tour operator at DownTown The Mall, Lakdikapul. The company states that it is approved by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Telangana Tourism. We plan customised domestic and international holidays around your preferences and budget, and we arrange hotels, transport, itineraries and travel assistance.

What that means for your Kerala trip:

  • A route chosen for your number of days, not a fixed template.
  • A written quote that states the hotels, vehicle, meals, GST and what is excluded.
  • Package terms stated on each page: 70% advance to book and the 30% balance 15 days before travel, with a cancellation schedule that runs from 15% retained (more than 45 days out) to 100% (within 5 days).
  • A team in Hyderabad that you can call or visit.

Guests have also left reviews on our package pages in October 2026. One describes a group trip planned in about three days; another thanks the team for regular follow-ups during a Wayanad trip.

How many days are enough for a Kerala trip?

No. Our listed packages start in Cochin and exclude airfare, bus fare and railway fare. We can arrange your Hyderabad–Cochin flight separately, and we will price it in your quote.

Is Kerala suitable for family holidays?

Yes, with a realistic route. Choose fewer hotel changes, plan for hill-road motion sickness, and ask us about vehicle size and how children under 11 are priced. Children 11 and above are counted as adults on our packages.

Which Kerala destinations are best for couples?

Munnar for cool weather and tea estates, Alleppey for a backwater or houseboat night, and Varkala or Kovalam for a beach finish. Kerala Delight and Kerala Bliss follow this pattern.

How can I travel from Hyderabad to Kerala?

By nonstop flight to Cochin (about 1 hour 35 to 45 minutes), by direct train to Ernakulam (about 22 to 24 hours), or by road (about 1,050–1,110 km). For a holiday of 4 to 7 days, flying is the most practical option.

Is a Kerala trip possible within ₹20,000 per person?

The land package alone can be, for 4 to 7 days. With a flight and entry fees, it is possible only on the shortest package with a low-fare ticket, and GST and meals often push the total higher.

Our listed packages include hotel stays, a private AC sedan, sightseeing as per the itinerary, daily breakfast, and one lunch and one dinner where the package states it. Airfare, entry tickets, other meals, tips and GST are excluded.

Can Leisure Trips customise a Kerala itinerary?

Yes. Tell us your dates, travellers, budget and preferences, such as a houseboat, a beach, wildlife or a slower pace, and we will plan the route and quote it.
